Welcome to the website. Here you’ll find, among other things, my achievements and how I got started in motorsports. I’ll also explain how you can become a partner. Enjoy!

Where did it all begin? My story so far…

DUTCHTIMEATTACK SEMIPRO 23′

We started with the Timeattack series. In this series, you can compete on serious circuits for a relatively small budget. In 2023, we raced at: Circuit Zandvoort, TT Assen, Lausitzring, and Nürburgring GP. There’s no direct competition between drivers, as you don’t compete for position but have to drive as fast as possible under the rules of your class. Think for example, of a limited BOP (power/weight). This results in incredibly close lap times between all sorts of different cars.

This season, I raced in the Semipro class, where the main rule was a BOP of 250 HP per 1000 kg weight. The competition was very close, so close that the top three had to battle it out on the final circuit. I finished P2 in my debut year. My love for motorsports was firmly established, and I quickly thought: I love this so much, this is going so well, let’s dive deeper! Where did it end?

DNRT ROOKIE 24′

In the winter of 2023/2024, we made a plan. We’d ditch the Time Attack series and really go racing! Door to door, mirror to mirror, and cross the finish line first. Our plan was to get the right (European) license in the spring and use that year as a test year. Converting a car from Time Attack to a full-fledged circuit racer is more involved than you think. Collaborating with Kay from TCTPerformance proved very useful.

After hundreds of hours of work, the car was ready for its first challenge: obtaining my European license at RSZ Autosport (the most comprehensive racing school in the Netherlands). And we succeeded! We passed the exam with flying colors and won the first prize for the license. My day couldn’t have been better! A month later, the moment finally arrived: the first real door-to-door race at the TT Assen. This circuit suited me so well (I drove it a lot during Time Attack) that it resulted in a second-place finish! I stood on the podium with tears in my eyes and couldn’t believe it! Shortly after, the second official race followed, and this time it was at my home track, Circuit Zandvoort. This is where my roots truly lie! From days of driving laps in the rain and dry at RSZ/Vrijrijden to races at Timeattack, I was fully prepared. With the help of Racebanden.nl, we were also on really good tires Namely the Nankang CR-S (More information about this on the ‘ Partners ‘ page)..

This also resulted in immediate results. Our first victory of the day was a fact! After three long races (40-minute races), we won that day! P1 baaaaaabyyy! This also resulted in a P1 in the rookies’ category. What a season, what progress, and what a car!

DNRT SPORT 25′

The foundation was well laid, and in the winter, the car went back to the drawing board. This is because I’m running with the least power of the entire field in the Sport class. The top 5 competitors are BMW E46 M3, E36 M3, E36 330, Seat TDI Cup Racer and a Renault Clio Cup. We focused heavily on the Aero package.

With the collaboration of Pro Car Innovations from the USA, we opted for a smaller wing and a different splitter. Kay from TCT designed new brakes and went for a completely different setup. The season consisted of 6 races. In Race 1, we had bad luck. On the first lap of the race, we lost drive, and it was our first DNF in years! After some investigation, it turned out that the final drive in the gearbox was broken. Unfortunately, it wasn’t readily available, so we opted for OEM gearing.

Races 2 and 3 were tough, very tough. Not only because our competitors were pulling away from us, but also because the gearing wasn’t suitable for this. With a lot of pain and effort, we managed to catch up and with maximum performance, we achieved P3 twice. For race 4, the gearbox went back to TCT for the new Final Drive. Race 4 turned out well from the start! We were unbeatable that day and culminated in our first Grandslam! Fastest qualifying lap time, won three races in a row, and led every lap! We scored maximum points for the championship!

Race 5 started very well, actually a carbon copy of race 4. I was even able to pull a 20 to 30-second lead on the field in races 1 and 2. Only in race 3 did things go wrong on the penultimate lap. Due to such consistent driving, the chassis was struggling, VERY hard. A constant velocity joint failed and fell out. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish this race, otherwise it would have been X2 Grandslam. Despite the retirement, we had enough points to win the day, P1 again. Very happy with that! The final race was held on a completely new track for me, the Belgian Circuit Zolder. After several upgrades to my Sim, I was fully prepared. We started with enormous tension, and I noticed I lacked pace. My direct opponent, Thom, was leading with his TDI. In the first chicane, things went wrong for him, and he ended up in the grass.

My engineer radioed, “Kim, head on! Keep your car intact and win the championship!” We drove both races with ease and finished P2. This resulted in us becoming champions and taking victory in our first year at the DNRT. I can’t express how proud I am of everyone, and I can’t wait for next year.

What are my goals in motorsports?

From childhood, the world of karting and racing fascinated me. I often watched races on TV and regularly went to the kart track. In my youth, these interests faded, and I sought pursuits elsewhere. After trying countless hobbies, I returned to the track a few years ago and started training laps at RSZ. That’s where it all began: Time Attack, EU License, Rookie, and winning the DNRT Sport class. Next year, I want to compete in a higher DNRT class, namely the Supersport class (standard time 1:52 in the Netherlands). Here too, we’re only aiming for one thing: a podium finish.

Where do I see myself driving in the future? My love for endurance driving has been simmering for a long time, and I’ve noticed I’m eager to go in that direction. Starting with an 8-hour race in the Netherlands? Yes, that’s realistic, and we’re already training for it. But I also regularly get asked, Kim, where do you most want to drive?

Then my answer is pretty quick: Yes, I’d love to see myself racing for an endurance team. Think of a European track like Spa / Nürburgring or Portimao, for example. Is that within reach? No, for now it is not realistically, but I’ll do everything I can to seize my opportunities and give it a try!
